The India operations of ALD Automotive and LeasePlan will be merged following the acquisition of LeasePlan globally by ALD Automotive. ALD has concluded a 100% acquisition of LeasePlan, one of the world’s leading fleet management and mobility companies for an undisclosed amount from a consortium led by TDR Capital, the two companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday

To lead strategic development of the combined entity in India, Tim Albertsen, chief executive, ALD Automotive-LeasePlan, has appointed Suvajit Karmakar as country MD and Asia sub-regional director of the merged entity to oversee business activities for the group in Malaysia and Thailand.

ALD Automotive India has a combined fleet of more than 38,000 vehicles across India. This makes it the largest mobility player in the country.
