IRB Infrastructure Developers, Epic Concessions, Adani Roads and PATH (Prakash Asphalting’s & Toll Highways) have bid for the 124 km stretch of the four-lane Trichy-Tovrankurichi-Madurai section in toll-operate-transfer (TOT) Bundle 15.

The National Highways Authority of India, under the ministry of road transport and highways, will first evaluate their technical bids followed by financial bids before it awards the contract.

“The technical bids for TOT Bundle 15 were opened today. After evaluating this, we will open the financial bids in a week or 10 days,” a senior government official said.

“We hope to award the contract in the first week of January,” the official added.

Under the TOT model, the right to operate, maintain and collect tolls over 15-30 years on operational national highway assets is leased to a private entity against a one-time, upfront concession fee paid to the government.

The NHAI has identified 86 national highway stretches with aggregate length of about 4,912 km for monetisation.
