More than 200 passengers departed Imphal in a fleet of four buses and small vehicles from the ISBT at Khuman Lampak at around 10 am. In a related development, 125 passengers who had embarked on the inaugural journey Friday safely reached Guwahati early Saturday.

The resumption of road transport services follows Manipur chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, deputy chief minister Nemcha Kipgen, and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen jointly announcing on August 8 the reopening of national highways for free movement of all communities and the resumption of Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service at Kangpokpi district.
Interstate passenger bus services resumed Friday between Manipur, Assam and Nagaland. Services were suspended following the outbreak of ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo tribal communities in Manipur on May 3, 2023.

A total of 125 passengers travelled on the route, in two buses and five small vehicles. The resumption of service has been widely appreciated by the public, with people welcoming the restoration of this crucial inter-state link.
Khemchand Singh inaugurated the strengthening works of Wabagai Higher Secondary School in Kakching district, under the Samagra Shiksha Manipur.
