Yeshwanthpur, Cantonment stations to be redeveloped under PPP
"2.25 acres opposite Cantonment railway station and 20 acres near Yeshwanthpur railway station will be leased out to successful bidders for 45 years."
General manager, South Western Railway, AK Gupta said these two stations are part of 23 stations proposed in the Union Budget for redevelopment under the first stage of Private Public Partnerships. Railway minister Suresh Prabhu launched the programme in New Delhi on Wednesday.
"2.25 acres opposite Cantonment railway station and 20 acres near Yeshwanthpur railway station will be leased out to successful bidders for 45 years. The developer will have to maintain the station for 15 years by providing a list of passenger amenities," Gupta said.
