WiFi at Allahabad, Patna railway stations soon

After Mumbai Central, railway stations in Allahabad, Patna, Jaipur and Ranchi will get Google’s WiFi coverage, a top official said.

NEW DELHI: After Mumbai Central, railway stations in Allahabad, Patna, Jaipur and Ranchi will get Google’s WiFi coverage, a top official said.

"Our intent was to fulfill Indian Railway’s vision of providing passengers access to high-speed Internet through our optical fiber communication network," Railtel’s chairman and managing director RK Bahuguna told ET. "In partnership with Google, we are confident of rolling out a robust, scalable service at stations in the near future."

Rajan Anandan, Google’s vice-president and managing director for South East Asia and India, said they are working on "bringing affordable Internet access to millions."
