Western Railway expanding facilities ahead of Kumbh Mela

Western Railway said that in view of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela to be held in Ujjain district next year, it has embarked on the work of expanding its facilities.

INDORE: The Western Railway today said that in view of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela to be held in Ujjain district next year, it has embarked on the work of expanding its facilities.

"For the convenience of devotees who would gather at the Simhastha in large numbers, one more gate in addition to the already existing three gates, will be constructed at Ujjain station," Western Railway's Ratlam division senior public relations officer Jitendra Kumar Jayant told PTI.

One foot-over bridge (FOB) is going to be built at the station as well, he said adding that four escalators and as many numbers of elevators are going to be fixed at the Indore railway station, as the city will also see a huge rush because of its proximity to Ujjain.
