Recently, a 20-coach Vande Bharat train was successfully tested at Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad, reaching speeds of 130 kilometers per hour. The trial, which was overseen by Western Railway officials and engineers, highlighted the train's capabilities. With the current 16-coach Vande Bharat trains operating at full capacity, the introduction of the 20-coach variant is expected to significantly improve service.High-Speed Corridor to Enhance Connectivity
In addition to the metro service, Gujarat is set to benefit from a new 214 km High-Speed Corridor between Tharad and Ahmedabad. This six-lane corridor, approved by the Union Cabinet with a budget of over Rs 10,500 crore, aims to enhance road connectivity for residents of Gujarat and neighboring states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
