U C D Shreni, Additional Member (Electrical) of Railway Board, has been named general manager of the Metro Railway (Kolkata).

KOLKATA: U C D Shreni, Additional Member (Electrical) of Railway Board, was on Tuesday appointed general manager of the Metro Railway here.
Joining the Indian Railway Service in 1973, Sreni held important and key positions in the Central, Western, South Eastern, South Central, North East Frontier and Southern Railways, besides the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and the Metro Railway, a railway relese said.
During his career, Shreni spreaheaded the introduction of various advanced technologies in the Indian Railway, besides developing indigenous equipment for the Metro.
A B.Tech gold medalist in Electrical Engineering from Aligarh and M.Tech in electrical power systems from IIT, Delhi, Shreni took special training in project management from Bradford University, UK.
Shreni is a senior member of the IEEE (USA) and receipient of the Eminent Engineers Award from the Institution of Engineers (India), New Delhi.
