Two new routes to take stranded passengers to main road
Considering the hardships being faced by passengers of Nilgiris Mountain Rail due to frequent land slips during rainy season.
Modalities are being worked to clear the paths, one near Katteri and another between Runnimed and Hillgrove railway stations, the usual areas of land slips, Shubhranshu, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem Division, told reporters here.
Stating that the passengers were put into lot of hardships during such natural problems, he said once these paths were cleared, they can be easily taken to the road, which would be six and eight kms respectively from the railway track.
Shubhranshu, here to review the security aspects on the Mettupalayam-Coonoor track, said the railways were taking these efforts, as the safety of the passengers was paramount.
