Twitter comes to rescue of woman train passenger

NEW DELHI: Railways came to the rescue of a woman passenger in Neelachal Express after she posted an anxious message on the Railways twitter site, alleging misbehaviour by a male passenger.

The public transporter responded quickly after a woman passenger, who had posted an anxious call on the Railways twitter account, stating that she was discomforted at the behaviour of a male passenger, sitting opposite, staring at her.

"Railways immediately took cognisance of the post of this distraught passenger and posted quick reply, assuring all help yesterday," according to a release here today.

The male passenger was de-boarded when the train reached the next station (Firozabad). The train took its onward journey after extended stoppage of five minutes there.

Later, the lady passenger expressed her "satisfaction" at the response and reach-out services of the Railways and posted her appreciation on the social networking site.

Passengers' safety particularly women is one of its prime concerns and and Railways has put round the clock attendance systems for passengers' calls, the release added.
