Twin train derailment: NWR cancels two trains from Rajasthan

North Western Railways (NWR) cancelled two trains from Rajasthan via Madhya Pradesh in view of the derailment of two trains in Harda district.

JAIPUR: North Western Railways (NWR) today cancelled two trains from Rajasthan via Madhya Pradesh in view of the derailment of two trains in Harda district.

Ajmer-Ahmedabad Express, train number 12719, and 12720 (both ways) would be cancelled today, NWR Chief Public Relation Officer and DGP Tarun Jain said, adding, Nanded- Sriganganagar train number 12485 and 12486 (both ways) would be cancelled on August 6 and August 8 respectively.

The trains will remain cancelled till further orders, the official said.

Twenty nine people were killed as two express trains derailed within minutes of each other on flooded tracks while crossing a railway bridge in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh in the dead of night and plunged into the swollen Machak river.
