Railways unveils swanky coaches for unreserved categories

Ready to be pressed into service on busy routes, the first Antyodaya Express will be launched between Mumbai and Tatanagar, and the second will be between Ernakulam and Howrah shortly.

NEW DELHI: Indian Railways has unveiled a swanky category of unreserved coaches for its soon be launched Antyodaya Express trains. These coaches are fully unreserved LHB second class coaches with additional safety features

For passenger convenience and comfort, these coaches have cushioned luggage racks which can serve as seats, additional hand holds in doorway area, potable Drinking water dispenser, mobile charging points, fire extinguisher with anti-theft lock, Pleasing interior colour scheme, toilet Occupation indication display board and LED Lights.

The coaches were unveiled on Wednesday by rail minister Suresh Prabhu at Delhi’s Safdarjang station.

“The introduction of Antyodaya Express trains would be a major step in the endeavour of Indian Railways to provide better amenities and convenience to the travelling public at affordable prices, and would emerge as a strong brand of Indian Railways,” Prabhu said.
