Suresh Prabhu flags off 1500th locomotive 'Gaurav'

VARANASI: Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off 1500th HHP Diesel Locomotive ' Gaurav' at Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) here.

The high horse power locomotive was flagged off last evening in a ceremony here in presence of Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.

Earlier, Prabhu along with Sinha inspected the driver cab of the locomotive and was apprised about its salient features by the General Manager Harit and Chief Mechanical Engineer Ashok Kumar Singh.

Lauding the technical skill of DLW's workmen, Prabhu complimented DLW as the "growth engine" of the country.

He also expressed "satisfaction" over the progress of Expansion Project and development of fuel cell hybrid locomotive by the DLW.
