Southern Railway cancels 15 trains due to heavy rains in Tamil Nadu

Fifteen trains, scheduled to leave from Chennai and Puducherry and passing through Chennai Central today and tomorrow have been cancelled.

CHENNAI: Southern Railway today announced cancellation of 15 trains bound for various destinations due to heavy rains in the state.

Fifteen trains, scheduled to leave from Chennai and Puducherry and passing through Chennai Central today and tomorrow have been cancelled due to the rains, southern Railway said in release.

The trains that have been cancelled are Tirunelveli-Howrah Express, Tiruvananthapuram-Guwahati Express, Ernakulam-Patna Express, Chennai Central-New Delhi Tamil Nadu Express.

Chennai Central-New Delhi Grand Trunk Express, Chennai-Central - Howrah Mail, Chennai Central-Hyderabad Express, Chennai Central-Jaipur Express, Chennai Egmore-Kacheguda Express.

Chennai Egmore-Kakinada Port Circar Express, Chennai Central-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Express, Chennai Central-Hubli Express, Chennai Central-Vishakapatnam Weekly Express, Tiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Express.

Puducherry-New Delhi Weekly Express scheduled to leave tomorrow was also cancelled, it said.
