Southern Railway adds additional coaches in some trains to clear extra rush

CHENNAI: Aiming to clear the extra rush of passengers ahead of the coming festive season, Southern Railway has added additional coaches in some of its trains plying in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

With effect from today, one reserved chair car coach has been added on the Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram-Chennai Express till November 3, an official release said.

Similarly, one reserved chair car coach has also been added on the Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express.

On the Chennai Egmore-Guruvayoor--Chennai Egmore route, Railways have added one air conditioned three-tier coach with effect from tomorrow.

The train with additional coaches would be operated till December 16, 2014, the release said.
