Siemens wins Rs 263 crore RVNL order for Uttarakhand rail electrification

The order covers the installation of rigid overhead catenary systems (ROCS) and flexible overhead catenary systems (FOCS) across tunnels, bridges, open routes, yards and associated infrastructure over a stretch of about 102.5 track kilometres, the company said.
The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line is part of the strategically important Char Dham connectivity corridor and is among Indian Railways' key infrastructure projects in the Himalayan region.

The project is expected to improve all-weather connectivity, support regional economic development, enhance mobility for residents and visitors, and provide a more reliable transport alternative in terrain frequently affected by weather-related disruptions.
"The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag corridor represents a significant step towards enhancing sustainable and reliable connectivity in one of India's most challenging terrains," said Rajeev Joisar, Chief Executive Officer, Mobility Business, Siemens Ltd.
