Safety clearance for Pollachi-Palakkad Broad Gauge line

COIMBATORE: Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle,Bengaluru,has authorised operation of services on the newly laid 54.72 km Broad Gauge Pollachi Junction- Palakkad Town stations line at a maximum speed of 80 KMph.

The commissioner S K Mittal, accompanied by a team from various departments of the Southern Railway, conducted safety inspection on this line for two days and stated that his report would be submitted within a fortnight.

He communicated his authorisation for operating passenger train services to Palakkad division, under which both the Stations come, a Southern Railway release said.

However this would be subject to technical stipulations, which are to be complied with before trains run in this section, the release said.
