Kheda railway station gold robbery: How police tracked the suspects
The robbery took place at Kheda Railway Station at around 5 pm, according to the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office. After the incident, the victim chased the suspects and managed to photograph their vehicle. Ahmedabad Rural Police received the information at around 7.30 pm and began tracing the suspects.
Investigators used the vehicle registration number and mobile number SDR to establish a possible connection to Banaskantha. LCB Head Constable Narendrasinh then used his network of informers to trace the vehicle's location.
Police set up roadblocks towards Viramgam
The investigation revealed that a second car, reportedly without a number plate, was following the first vehicle. As police identified a possible route towards Sachana and Viramgam, teams from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Viramgam Town Police began setting up roadblocks.Before the suspected vehicle could enter Viramgam Town, LCB personnel Himanshu and Siddhraj of Viramgam Town Police blocked the road using a truck and other vehicles.

The move worked, and one of the accused was caught. During questioning, police learnt that the remaining three suspects had moved ahead in the first car, which was allegedly carrying the stolen gold.
Gujarat cop dragged for 500 metres during gold robbery chase
Police then used information obtained from the arrested accused to locate the other suspects and bring them towards the area where police teams were waiting.PI S A Gadhvi, PI Paresha Jani and teams from Viramgam Town Police and the LCB reached the location and surrounded the suspected car, according to the release cited by ANI.
The suspects allegedly tried to break through the police cordon and rammed their vehicle into PI Gadhvi's car.
They then attempted to escape by reversing the vehicle.
PI Gadhvi ran towards the moving car and managed to grab its door. The officer was dragged for around 500 metres as the accused continued driving, according to the Gujarat CMO.
Despite the danger, Gadhvi managed to open the door of the moving vehicle, take control of the steering and pull the emergency handbrake, bringing the car to a stop.
Other police personnel immediately moved in and arrested the suspects inside the vehicle.
Rs 4 crore gold recovered from car seat cover
One of the accused managed to flee into nearby fields during the operation. Police cordoned off the area and subsequently arrested him as well.The stolen gold was found concealed inside the seat cover of the car, according to the police release.
Investigators recovered around 2.90 kg of gold valued at approximately Rs 4 crore, along with both vehicles allegedly used during the robbery. Police said the entire stolen property had been recovered.
Further investigation into the robbery and the accused is underway.
