Rajdhani Express delayed due to rail blockade

JALPAIGURI(WEST BENGAL): The Rajdhani Express from Guwahati and some local trains were delayed for about 40 minutes at Khalaigram railway station in Jalpaiguri district due to a rail blockade by CPI(M) cadres today.

The party workers put up the blockade demanding CBI enquiry into the unnatural death of a girl whose body was found on the rail track near the station on September 1, police officials said.

Although Railway police claimed that it was a case of suicide, party workers alleged that she had been raped and murdered, they said.

The Delhi-bound Rajdhani and other trains resumed journey after the blockade was lifted after about 40 minutes following persuation by both local and rail police force, they said.
