Railways requests its employees to donate a day's salary towards Kerala relief fund

There have been unprecedented rains in Kerala in last ten days in which hundreds have been killed and property worth thousands of crores damaged.

NEW DELHI: The Railway Board has appealed to all its 13 lakh employees to donate a day's salary towards Kerala Chief Minister's relief fund.

A top board official said that railway ministry is hoping to raise Rs 200 crore through the donation.

There have been unprecedented rains in Kerala in last ten days in which hundreds have been killed and property worth thousands of crores damaged.


Additionally, the railways has made transportation of all relief material to the state government free.
