VELLORE: Railway Ministry was considering introduction of ATM facilities in trains to enable passengers withdraw cash while travelling, Minister of State for Railways R Velu has said.
To have ATM facilities in trains, a separate bogie with adequate security was needed, he told reporters after inspecting the broad gauge conversion work of the Vellore-Katpadi line here on Sunday.
At present, ATM facilities were available at select important stations, he added. Velu said the Vellore-Tiruvannamalai broadgauge line would be ready by March next year.
