Railway minister inaugurates six projects via video-conferencing

The ministry has chalked out a comprehensive plan for developing Railways through Public-Private Partnership and Joint Ventures with the state governments.

KOZHIKODE: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today inaugurated six railway projects in Kerala, including the newly-built 9.6-km long Tiruvalla-Chengannur double line, through video conferencing.

He said the ministry has chalked out a comprehensive plan for developing Railways through Public-Private Partnership ( PPP) and Joint Ventures with the state governments.

Besides, the Tiruvalla-Changannur double line which would ease congestion in the Ernakulam-Kottayam-Kayamkulam section, facilities include laying of foundation stone for extension of Foot Over Bridge at Kozhikode station, inauguration of a new platform at Palakkad, inauguration of Wi-Fi services and escalator at Thrissur and inauguration of an escalator at Thiruvananthapuram Central.
