Railway collects a record amount from ticketless travellers

Western Railway registered 25,526 cases of irregular travel between November 1 and 15 this year, to collect Rs 1,11,21,089.

VADODARA: Western Railway registered 25,526 cases of irregular travel between November 1 and 15 this year, to collect Rs 1,11,21,089, which is higher than the number of cases as well as earnings during the entire month of November 2011, its Vadodara division senior provisional manager Uday Shankar Jha told reporters.

He requested all travellers to purchase tickets to save themselves from being penalised for ticketless travel.
