Railway Budget 2012: Congress MP for inclusion of Seemanchal region under rail projects

Qasmi urges Rly minister to include Bihar's Seemanchal region in train services.

KISHANGANJ: Congress MP Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi has written to the Prime Minister and the Railway minister for inclusion of Bihar's Seemanchal region in the train services and infrastructure projects to be proposed in the Railway budget for 2012-13.



Talking to reporters here, Qasmi said that he has urged the PM and the Railway minister to start a train service from Thakurganj, an important place in Kishanganj district, or at least ensure a stoppage there of trains starting from Patna, Delhi, Kolkata and Katihar.

He said that the Railway minister should also consider stoppage at Thakurganj of trains like Mahananda Express, Kanchanjangha Express and Uttarbanga Express for convenience of commuters of Bihar, Nepal and West Bengal.

The Congress MP said that he has urged the Railway minister to consider stoppage of Dibrugarh-Amritsar Express and Haldibari-Sealdah Express at Kishanganj railway station.
