Railway Board Member Mechanical and team visit Durgapur Steel Plant forged wheel facility

KOLKATA: A clutch of top Railway officials, including Hemant Kumar, Member Mechanical, Railway Board visited Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) on Friday. The team of officials, accompanied by A K Rath, CEO, DSP and others senior DSP executives, went around the Wheel & Axle Plant of the Durgapur Steel Plant. The Railways is one of the largest customers of DSP. The latter is the only forged wheel producer in the country and has been supplying various types of wheels and axles to the Indian Railways for more than 50 years.

“DSP has long standing synergy with the Railways and continuously strives to meet demand from the Indian Railways. Both are partners in progress,” A K Rath, CEO, DSP said. Hemant Kumar also commented on the efforts and initiatives of DSP in meeting the requirements of the Indian Railways during his interaction with senior officials of DSP. The plant has developed various wheels over the years in collaboration with the Indian Railways as per their changing requirements, DSP said in an official statement.
