Rail travel may get cheaper for HIV-affected patients

HIV-affected patients travelling on trains are likely to get some concessions in the Rail Budget.

NEW DELHI: HIV-affected patients travelling on trains are likely to get some concessions in the Rail Budget. Railway minister Lalu Prasad is likely to extend 75-80% discount on rail tickets for the patients travelling by train. The proposal of National Aids Control Organisation has been doing the rounds for past few years.

“As the Railways’ revenues and operating ratio has improved significantly, the proposal would be taken up for consideration this time,” a source said.
