Rail traffic suspended in Kashmir valley
Rail services were halted between Banihal and Baramulla which link Jammu region with Kashmir valley in view of the strike call given by separatist group.
"Rail services between Banihal (Ramban district of Jammu region) and Baramulla (Kashmir valley) were suspended as a precautionary measure," a Railway officer said today.
No train was allowed between Banihal and Baramulla due to strike in valley and protests in parts of south Kashmir, Abdul Baseer Bali, station master of Banihal railway station, told PTI.
Hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani had given a call for a shutdown across the valley today over the killing of three militants by troops in an encounter in Siligam village of Anantnag district yesterday.
