Passenger urinates inside crowded train coach, internet is furious; Railway Seva responds after disturbing incident caught on camera

A video showing a man allegedly urinating inside a crowded train coach has gone viral on social media, prompting strong reactions from passengers and internet users over hygiene and behaviour on trains. The footage, shared on X by @Khurpenchinfra on September 26, appears to show a packed coach with passengers occupying berths and much of the floor space.

In the video, a man can reportedly be seen standing in the middle of the crowded compartment and allegedly urinating inside the coach, while several passengers watch.

According to the post accompanying the clip, some passengers confronted the man and asked him to use the train toilet instead. The exchange allegedly turned into an argument, after which some passengers can be seen confronting the man physically.

The footage appears to show one or more people hitting him, while others threaten to report the matter. The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been independently verified.

Railway Seva responds to viral train video

The video also caught the attention of Railway Seva, which asked for additional details so that the incident could be investigated.

Railway Seva responded to the post: “Please share complete details related to the incident, such as train number, (PNR number), mobile number, and date and time. Based on the information you provide, the matter will be investigated, and necessary action will be taken.”

It also directed passengers to register a complaint through the Rail Madad portal for resolution.

Social media reacts to man urinating inside train

The video has triggered a debate online, with users discussing both the man's alleged behaviour and the reaction of fellow passengers.

One user focused on a woman appearing to support the man in the footage, writing:

“My whole attention to the lady who was supporting him from behind. Sure unusual. He definitely needs both medical and law attention. Really confusing. What should I conclude here? Should I laugh, or should I be worried for him. Btw, ‘Kaahe moot raha hai bhai’ stole the show”

Another user questioned why passengers appeared to record the incident rather than intervene, commenting:

“Why the people are waiting and filming, he should have been given a good peace of mind immediately, it’s us only who tolerated him.”

A third user also questioned the response from those around the man: “How come only one man tried to beat him up.. how everyone else was just looking?”

Calls for action over passenger behaviour

Some social media users called for stricter action against passengers who engage in such behaviour inside trains. One user suggested that the man should be barred from travelling by train, drawing a comparison with restrictions that airlines can impose on passengers.
