PASA asks for speedy execution of pending rail projects

PASA has demanded that the pending rail projects of Malwa and Nimad region be completed on priority for better connectivity and industrial growth.

INDORE: The Pithampur Audyogik Sansthan Association (PASA) has demanded that the pending rail projects of Malwa and Nimad region be completed on priority for better connectivity and industrial growth.

In a memorandum to the Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, president of PASA Dr Gautam Kothari said many rail projects sanctioned in the recent years were yet to be executed.

Ratlam-Mhow-Khandwa-Akola meter gauge link should be converted into broad gauge between Ratlam and Khandwa, Dr Kothari demanded.

He added that even though a sum of Rs 142.95 crore was sanctioned for the gauge conversion in the last four rail budgets, nothing had happened after that.

In the letter, Kothari also mentioned that other sanctioned rail projects like Indore-Dahod, Chhota Udaipur-Dhar and Indore-Manmad rail-line, be executed at the earliest.

He alleged that the project survey conducted by the railways in January 2009 was based on wrong presumptions and the container movement was wrongly recorded.
