Hisar: Of the 13 Delhi-bound trains cancelled by the North Western Railway for Saturday ahead of the Jantar Mantar protest, most are from Haryana.

Though the railways cited "operational reasons" for the cancellation, the move comes ahead of the protests called by the Cockroach Janata Party and other groups in Delhi on October 10, demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation over controversy surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

On Friday, the Bikaner Division of North Western Railway announced the cancellation of 13 train services bound for Delhi.

Among the trains cancelled on October 10 and passing through Haryana is the Sirsa-Tilak Bridge Haryana Express (Train No. 15308).

Similarly, the Tilak Bridge-Bhiwani Express (Train No. 14738) and the Bhiwani-Tilak Express (Train No. 14737) stand cancelled.

Other trains include the Rewari-Old Delhi Passenger (Train No. 54414), Old Delhi-Rewari (Train No. 54421), the Hisar-Old Delhi Passenger (Train No. 54310), and the Hisar-New Delhi Passenger (Train No. 54424).

The announcement comes after the CJP announced a protest on October 10 at the Jantar Mantar, seeking the chief election commissioner's resignation.

The CJP, which has held demonstrations in Mumbai and Bengaluru, alleged that the government is intentionally restricting transport services to prevent people from participating in the demonstration.

In Mumbai, the outfit's founder Abhijeet Dipke slammed the Centre, saying it should shut down the entire country if it is scared of the youth.
