Odisha train accident-like incident was averted in Mysuru in Feb 2023, reveals railway official's letter

After a Balasore-like tragedy was averted in February due to an alert locomotive pilot on the Bangalore-New Delhi Sampark Kranti Express at Hosadurga Road station, Mysore division, the then principal chief operation manager of South Western Railway had warned Indian Railways, in a letter, against the alleged bypassing of the electronic interlocking system. "It may lead to catastrophic accidents," he had warned.
