North Western Railway gets 12 new express trains

NWR got 12 new express trains to various locations besides five passengers trains in the Rail Budget 2013-14 presented by the Railways minister.

JAIPUR: North Western Railway (NWR) got 12 new express trains to various locations besides five passengers trains in the Rail Budget 2013-14 presented by the Railways minister today, a senior official said here.

GM NWR R C Agrawal said that setting up of Rail Neer bottling plants and executive lounge in Jaipur, Mainline Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) in Bhilwara, skill development centre for the youths in Railways related trades in Alwar, Sirsa were among the major announcements for NWR.

A new line, two survey (one for six new lines and the other for doubling of two lines), extension of 12 trains, increase of frequency of two trains and doubling of a line are included among the other budget announcements related with the NWR, he said.

"It is a growth oriented rail budget and most of the main demands from NWR have been addressed," Agrawal added.
