New rail link between Abohar, Fazilka

Flagging off a passenger train at Abohar station for Fazilka in Punjab, K H Muniyappa said the new rail line would provide a direct connectivity b/w the 2 towns.

NEW DELHI: Flagging off a passenger train at Abohar station for Fazilka in Punjab, Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa today said the new rail line would provide a direct connectivity between the two towns on the Indo-Pak border.

The construction of a new rail line marks a significant step in direct connectivity as the present rail link is through the circuitous route through Bathinda.

The new rail line reduces total travelling distance to 93 km from 250 km earlier.
