MP govt writes to Railway Min for daily direct train to Mumbai

The Madhya Pradesh government urges Union Railway Minister Pawan Bansal to start a direct daily train to Mumbai from Bhopal.

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh government has urged Union Railway Minister Pawan Bansal to start a direct daily train to Mumbai from the state capital.

Home Minister Umashankar Gupta in a letter yesterday to Bansal said people from Bhopal were facing many problems as there was no direct train to the metroplis from the city.

He also said that due to lack of direct daily train to Mumbai many needy people such as cancer patients and their families face inconvenience due to lack of quota in trains via Bhopal. Many tourists, thousands of youngsters working in Mumbai and businesspersons also go through this discomfort, he pointed out.

Keeping in view the difficulties of the residents, Gupta has urged to run the weekly Habibganj-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus train from Bhopal to Mumbai and vice versa, on a daily basis.
