Metro Railway crosses Rs 100 cr mark in revenue collection
Metro Railway has achieved a cumulative earnings of Rs 103.15 crore surpassing the Rs 100 crore mark in 2010-11.
The cumulative revenue collection was Rs 88.72 crore in 2009-10, a Metro Railway release here said.
The percentage growth in cumulative earnings worked out to 16.26 per cent, one of the highest among all other zones of the Indian Railways.
The cumulative earnings include revenue from the passengers and sundry earnings.
It said that passenger earnings mainly comprised revenue collected from passenger fare and sundry earnings from commercial publicity, scrap sale and rentals from real estate of the railway.
Out of Rs 103.15 crore revenue collected, Rs 87.07 crore came from passenger earnings which is 17.98 per cent more than the previous year and Rs 16.08 per cent from sundry earnings, which is 7.7 per cent more than the previous year.
