Maytas Infra consortium bags Hyderabad metro rail project

Hyderabad-based infrastructure development company Maytas Infra Ltd on Wednesday said that its consortium has won the contract for building Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.

MUMBAI: Hyderabad-based infrastructure development company Maytas Infra Ltd on Wednesday said that its consortium has won the contract for building Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.

The consortium, comprising Navabharat Ventures Ltd, Maytas Infra Ltd, Ital Thai Development Public Company Ltd and IL&FS, bagged the contract as their bid turned out to be the lowest, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

A Rs 11814-crore Metro Rail project is expected to ease traffic woes of Hyderabad residents. Increasing traffic density in the city has forced the government to revise the metro project cost from Rs 9,696 crore to Rs 11,814 crore.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 494.25 at the BSE, up 19.80 per cent from the previous close.
