Karnataka gets new MEMU train service between Arasikere and Yelahanka

The service will cover a large part of Tumakuru district, which Somanna represents in the Lok Sabha. The service will further strengthen regional rail connectivity between Yelahanka and Arasikere, providing greater convenience to daily commuters, Somanna said after flagging off the train on Monday.
The minister later inspected the Road Over Bridge (ROB) under construction at Sharada Nagar Gate in Tumakuru and directed officials to expedite the work and ensure its timely completion for the convenience of the public.
Somanna also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) on National Highway 206 near the Government Degree College in Tiptur, a major copra trading centre in Tumakuru district.
The Union minister also participated in various official programmes with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in Tumakuru, including the inauguration of several buildings and the laying of foundation stones for multiple development projects at the Gnana Siri Campus of Tumakuru University, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara.
School building: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has contributed Rs 2 crore towards the construction of a new school building at Nagavalli in Tumakuru taluk. Siddaganga Mutt seer Sri Siddalinga Swami and Somanna participated in the foundation stone-laying ceremony.
