Mumbai's Central Railway suburban services were disrupted on Monday after a signalling failure at Kanjurmarg affected train movements on multiple lines. The signalling system on all four suburban lines at Kanjurmarg has since been restored, a Central Railway official said, PTI reported.

A signalling failure at Kanjurmarg in the morning disrupted suburban train operations on multiple lines of Central Railway’s Main Line.It affected train movements between Vikhroli and Bhandup. The disruption was further compounded by a separate incident in which a wire of unknown source was found hanging from the overhead equipment (OHE) between Mulund and Thane.

The signalling failure was reported around 9.30 am on Monday, after the Station Control Office (SCOR) reported that all lines at Kanjurmarg had gone down and the signals had turned blank. The failure affected both signalling at Kanjurmarg and the section between Vikhroli and Bhandup, prompting railway officials to regulate train movements under special operating procedures to ensure safe operations.
