Justice K Kannan appointed Railway Claims Tribunal Chairman

Justice Kannan, who retired as judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court last month, has been appointed for five years or till he attains the age of 65 years.

NEW DELHI: Justice (retd) K Kannan was today appointed as Chairman of Railway Claims Tribunal, mandated to provide expeditious compensation to the victims of rail accidents and other related cases.

Justice Kannan, who retired as judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court last month, has been appointed for five years or till he attains the age of 65 years, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.

Also, a senior railway service officer Chahatey Ram has been appointed as General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway in Guwanahti.

Ram, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers, is presently Chief Administration Officer (Construction), North Western Railway, Jaipur.
