The chief minister further added that the present condition is directly impacting all rail passengers and thousands of daily commuters, workers, students, and professionals from Jharkhand.
"This is not just an operational issue, but a question of setting priorities. Does the railway consider the time of Jharkhand's people to be as valuable as freight transport is for the country's economy?"
He urged Vaishnaw to prioritize passenger trains on the Chandil–Tata section, complete pending railway infrastructure projects in a time-bound manner and ensure immediate resolution of the problem of train delays.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) also raised the issue saying that passengers have been continuously tormented on the Chandil–Tata section for the past two years.
"Every day, dozens of passenger trains are delayed for hours—and on the same track, freight trains pass through without stopping. The situation today is such that a journey that used to take 3-6 hours is now stretching to 8-12 hours," the political party complained.
In a post on X, JMM attached an advisory by Rail Tatanagar backing the complain to highlight the seriousness of the issue of the said railway section in Jharkhand.
