The number of services has been steadily rising in recent years — from 305 trips in 2023 to 358 in 2024, and now a record-breaking 380 in 2025.
Of these, Central Railway will operate the maximum 296 services, catering to the heavy festive rush in Maharashtra and the Konkan belt. Western Railway will run 56 services, while South Western Railway will add 22 and Konkan Railway (KRCL) 6 trips.
For Konkan-bound trains, halts have been planned at multiple key stations including Kolad, Mangaon, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, and Surathkal, among others.
The Ganpati Puja celebrations will be held from August 27 to September 6, 2025. To meet the anticipated surge in demand, special trains have already started running from August 11, 2025, with frequency being scaled up as the festival approaches.
Passengers can check the detailed schedule of Ganpati Special trains on the IRCTC website, RailOne app, and through PRS counters.
Indian Railways said it remains committed to providing safe, comfortable, and convenient travel, especially during festivals when passenger demand peaks.
