“They took my oats packet, prepared it for me, and within just five minutes, they handed it back to me, freshly made and ready for my little one,” she wrote.
For a parent travelling with a young child, getting a warm meal prepared quickly can be particularly helpful during a long train journey.
However, the mother said it was the staff's attitude that made the experience memorable.
‘They were so cooperative and welcoming’
Sharing her experience on Instagram, user dakshnmom said the railway staff were happy to help without making her feel uncomfortable about the request.“They were so cooperative and welcoming, and there was absolutely no hesitation in helping a mother travelling with her baby,” she added.

She thanked the staff for making things easier and said small acts of kindness can have a big impact when travelling with children.
‘A little kindness makes a BIG difference’
The mother said travelling with a baby can be difficult, especially during a long journey, but helpful gestures can make the experience less stressful.“Sometimes, it’s these little gestures that make a long journey so much easier and memorable,” she wrote.
She added that “a little kindness along the way makes a BIG difference.”
Her post also prompted other social media users to share their own experiences of receiving help from railway pantry staff while travelling with young children.
‘They let me make my Maggi too’
One user recalled being allowed to prepare Maggi during a train journey.“They let me make my Maggi too,” the user wrote.
Another person said they hoped more such experiences would receive attention online, “for good reasons.”
Several users also shared stories involving milk and food for babies.
“I asked the pantry person who came to our coach if I could get hot milk. He was so helpful. He took my daughter’s bottle and brought me hot milk in it. It made the journey so easygoing,” one user wrote.
Another suggested carrying a small electric kettle while travelling with children, saying it could come in handy during long train journeys.
“I have done the same. They were very helpful,” another user added.
The comments eventually became a collection of personal train travel experiences, with parents recalling moments when railway staff or fellow passengers helped them manage the challenges of travelling with young children.
For the mother who shared the original post, however, it was a five-minute act of help that made a long journey with her toddler a little easier.
