Hoax bomb call on August Kranti Rajdhani Express

"After a thorough check, it was found that the call was hoax. We are trying to locate the caller by surveillance," Mathura District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said.

MATHURA: A phone call informing that bombs were allegedly being planted in Mumbai-bound August Kranti Rajdhani Express sent security agencies here into a tizzy, who later found the call to be a hoax.

Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force and local police yesterday evening conducted a thorough search of the train on platform no 5 of Mathura junction station for about an hour but no suspicious material was found, Area Manager N P Singh said.

Agra control room had informed officials of Mathura junction station about the bomb around 6 pm yesterday, and they in turn informed the district administration and police, he said.

"After a thorough check, it was found that the call was hoax. We are trying to locate the caller by surveillance," Mathura District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar said.

The passengers breathed a sigh of relief when nothing was found, Singh said.

"I also appreciate the cooperation that we received from the passengers," the Area Manager added.
