Goods train derails in Odisha's Cuttack district, trains diverted

No one was injured in the accident involving the goods train which was carrying coal from Talcher to Jamanjodi in Koraput district.

BHUBANESWAR: A wagon of a goods train derailed at Marthapur in Cuttack district today, disrupting train traffic between Naraj and Dhenkanal in Odisha.

No one was injured in the accident involving the goods train which was carrying coal from Talcher to Jamanjodi in Koraput district.

Senior railway officials rushed to the spot and made arrangements for resumption of normal train services on the route by undertaking repair works, the officials said, adding services were restored five hours after the derailment.

However, some passenger trains like Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Inter City, Sambalpur-Puri Inter City and Angul-Puri Passenger had to be diverted through Nirgundi.
