Goods train delayed following sparks from wheel

A rice-laden goods train coming from Odisha to Tuticorin was detained here for more than 90 minutes after continous sparks of fire was noticed in one of the wheels

VIRUDHACHALAM (TN): A rice-laden goods train coming from Odisha to Tuticorin was detained here for more than 90 minutes today after continous sparks of fire was noticed in one of the wheels, Railway police said.

The train was crossing the railway station here when the railway staff noticed continuous sparks in the wheel, which could lead to a fire accident.

The train was stopped and the cause for the friction set right. It left the station after a delay of about 90 minutes, they said.

The Cuddalore-Tiruchirappalli passenger train was also delayed following the incident, railway officials said.
