Free pass for railwaymen in Duronto soon: Dinesh Trivedi

Railways plans to issue free passes or duty passes for employees to travel in the superfast Duronto Express, Railway Minister said.

CHENNAI: The Railways plans to issue free passes or duty passes for employees to travel in the superfast Duronto Express, Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi said today.

"The plan of giving free passes to railway employees across the country to travel in Duronto Express is being discussed with the Railway Board and may be given soon. We thought that like us, our railwaymen also should travel in Duronto. We will soon find a way," he said.

The minister was addressing the 87th session of the All India Railwaymen's Federation here.

Trivedi said he would hold discussions with the Railway Board Chairman on the modified version of LARGESS (Liberalised Active Retirement Scheme for Guaranteed Employment for Safety Staff) scheme, which reportedly has some conditions which do not favour many railway employees.
