First phase of Jaipur Metro to be completed by next year

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Government today expressed hope that the work under the first phase of Jaipur Metro would be completed by June next year.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Dhariwal, who was here to review the progress of the work at the Metro sites here, said the speed of the work was satisfactory and the first phase is likely to be completed by June, 2013.

The ambitious project of Jaipur Metro is to be completed in two phases. Under the first phase, Metro trains would run between Mansarovar and Chandpole covering a distance of 9.718 kms.

The minister along with other officials visited the metro sites in Civil Lines, Mansarover, Sodala, New Sanganer road and reviewed the progress.
