Electric trains to run on new Indore-Ujjain track
Electric trains would run on the new Indore-Ujjain railway stations most likely from next week, following inspection and clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety
Initially goods train would be run on the new system of electrification followed by passenger trains, sources said.
A team of CRS led by its commissioner P S Baghel has conducted a trial run of a special inspection saloon on this newly laid system build at a cost of Rs 70 crore.
The special train was tested on this track between 70 and 100 km per hour of speed yesterday, the sources said.
Diesel engine would be phased out on this section in near future. When contacted the Chief of Rail Electrification Project at Kota (Rajasthan) M P Singh said CRS would soon issue a clearance certificate for running the trains.
