Dragging incidents in Delhi Metro due to software malfunctioning: Sreedharan
E Sreedharan said incidents of people getting dragged by trains were "small" and they were due to software malfunctioning
He also threw his weight behind his successor Mangu Singh, saying he would deliver because he has been with the organisation for the past 15 years and knows how to manage things.
Sreedharan, who demited office on December 31 last year, said a few incidents does not mean that "everything has collapsed."
Talking to reporters, he said, "In a big organisation like (Delhi Metro), small things happen. Unfortunately, they are happening after I left and that does not mean everything has collapsed. Things will be set alright."
He was responding to questions about incidents of people being dragged by trains and why they were happening after he left the organisation.
On a particular incident where a person was dragged by train for a long distance, Sreedharan said that could be due to software malfunctioning and it could be set right by the manufacturer of the train.
"It happens sometime. It is a gadget. It can be set right," he said.
