DMRC clocks highest ever passenger journeys on Monday

The previous highest recorded passenger journey count for DMRC stood at 66.19 lakh on February 10, 2020, just before the pandemic struck. This milestone underscores our mission to provide accessible, reliable, and sustainable solutions, DMRC said.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recorded the highest ever passenger journeys at 68.16 lakh on Monday (August 28). An official statement said this marks the highest ever daily passenger journeys pre and post the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comparably, the previous highest recorded passenger journey count stood at 66.19 lakh on February 10, 2020, just before the pandemic disrupted travel patterns and routines. This milestone underscores our mission to provide accessible, reliable, and sustainable transportation solutions, DMRC said.

The Delhi Metro had started crossing pre-pandemic levels this year.In May 2023, DMRC reported a 32% surge in the ridership compared with the same month last year. It was also 11% higher than the pre-pandemic May 2019.
